Welcome back to the third installment of Music That Inspires You. Before diving in head first, Happy Holidays to everyone!
Alright, let’s kick it off. Surprise! We’re making Christmas. . .metal!
Yeah, remember the last time I mentioned when I came upon Mushroomhead and Flaw? Well, I figured I’d start this installment with Mushroomhead. The XX album was probably by far one of my favorite albums, along with M3, and Superbuick. I don’t care for the whole who’s better bit: Slipknot or Mushroomhead. Just appreciate the music and move on.
I like to replay some of their songs for blood pumping fueled action, and for when I am working the keyboard.
I remember back to the days of high school, where my friends and I would share our music, our music players, and we’d all just crank shit out so loud, everyone around us would cry about it.
Dig. . .was probably one of my favorite Mudvayne songs, along with Shadow of Man off the album, The End of All Things to Come. Good stuff. The sound is definitely something that gets you hooked.
It’s Pantera. And yes, the world would be better if we still had “Dimebag” Darrel. I don’t think I really need to give anymore explanation.
It’s no secret, I am a big fan of Buckethead [and Deathcube K]. Twisted, abstract, and right up there on the fubar level, Buckethead just keeps the jams coming. . .and I love it. I don’t have a single album that I dislike, or don’t listen to. I suppose it probably takes some appreciation. . .or being psychotic. Really though, there is no one favorite song by Buckethead. To me anyways.
One of my favorite things to do on YouTube, is to look up one of my favorite songs, or artists, and then start clicking on the side for what’s considered similar. I found Gallowbraid when I was going through Nightwish songs and a few other bands. Well, needless to say, I’ve been a fan ever since.
Yes, yes, the song is quite long, but trust me, if you can get through it. . .and the album, your ears will thank you.
[To some people, probably not. However, that’s not my problem.]
That wraps it up for the METAL Christmas special of Music That Inspires You. Check back Monday for a new spread.
